About our magnetic material

和也 magnetic products use neodymium magnets, known as high-performance permanent magnets.

What is a neodymium magnet?

Neodymium magnets are known as one of the strongest permanent magnets in practical use today, and they keep high magnetism even at a small size. A typical neodymium magnet has three main components: neodymium (Nd), iron (Fe) and boron (B).

Chemical formulaNd₂Fe₁₄BThe structure of a typical high-performance permanent magnet made of neodymium, iron and boron.

Elements confirmed at 和也

Information confirmed at the 和也 factory shows copper, aluminium, zirconium, praseodymium and cobalt in addition to the main components neodymium, iron and boron. 和也 magnetic material may therefore combine several elements on an Nd-Fe-B base.

Nd NeodymiumMain
The core rare earth that produces strong magnetism and determines the performance of a neodymium magnet.
Fe IronMain
The main metal supporting magnetic strength; it forms the basic structure of the magnet.
B BoronMain
Stabilises the crystal structure and helps maintain high magnetism.
Pr PraseodymiumConfirmed
A rare earth like neodymium, involved in stabilising magnetism, heat resistance and magnetic properties.
Co CobaltConfirmed
Sometimes used to limit loss of magnetism at high temperatures; related to heat resistance and long-term stability.
Zr ZirconiumConfirmed
Refines the internal structure of the magnet and is said to help stabilise durability and performance.
Cu CopperConfirmed
Can contribute to grain-boundary control, corrosion resistance and higher coercivity.
Al AluminiumConfirmed
Sometimes used for magnetic properties, workability and structural stability.

Compared with a typical neodymium magnet

A typical neodymium magnet is based on Nd₂Fe₁₄B. In 和也 magnetic material, praseodymium, cobalt, zirconium, copper and aluminium have also been confirmed alongside this basic structure. This suggests a design that considers more than strength alone:

  • Stable magnetism
  • Durability
  • Heat resistance
  • Performance over long use

Why magnetism in bedding

Bedding touches the body for hours every day, and we spend roughly a third of our lives asleep. That makes bedding more than furniture: it is a foundation of daily life. 和也 focuses on this time, building magnetism into bedding, pillows, supporters and innerwear in forms you can use naturally, every day, for long hours.
